In judo, the kyu grades typically run from white (beginner) through yellow, orange, green, blue and brown before reaching black belt (1st Dan and above). Judo belts are sized by length, typically ranging from size 1 (small children) through to size 6 or 7 (larger adults). As a general guide, the belt should wrap around your waist twice and tie at the front with both ends reaching roughly mid-thigh.
